Lifafa Journalism
Lifafa
Journalism has become a common phenomenon nowadays. In the good old days,
journalists were bold, true, courageous, inspirational and respected. But
today, they come with a price tag. Pay and use sorts.
Marketing
and branding changed their lives. But the bigger worry now is that the sincere
ones are treated with the same stick. It breaks one's heart to the core. We
learn to report what has happened but sometimes in a newsroom environment, we
are forced to write something that is a complete fantasy.
Earlier
if one wished to influence 100 individuals, the person would have to visit them
individually, or organize a meeting or those individuals should reach you. But
for a change, now you can influence a group of people easily. All you need is a
few corrupt journalists who will go to any low for money.
Bribe
them and tie them in your veranda. Even unknowingly they’ll not make any sound
till you feed them the right amount of bone. They will bark when you hint them
to.
I
have seen some of these journalists in action. And, it is not only like the
reporters are bribable, but even the photojournalists also receive envelops
from organizers of events too.
If
these individuals are financially weak, support them. I am for them. But when
the situation is different and they blatantly ask for Lifafas promising
publication, I am against it.
In
my view, they are not being loyal and are not just with their job. Journalism
is just a job for them, not passion. I call them dummy scribes or the wolf in
lion’s skin.
However,
Lifafa journalism is not the only way journalism works. Some journalists
dedicate their entire life in service of this profession. Every story, every
byline the next morning, fills them with life, gives them a kick to work even
more, but the Lifafa people destroys this charm too. The wrath of these Lifafa
people even leaves burn scar on the faces of real journalists, the passionate
ones.
Hail
Journalism.
